Lenten Service Project

Funds are needed for wig supplies and Care Packages. Wigs are about $25 per wig. Care packages need donations to cover Amazon gift certificates and food items. You can donate either by check written out to MQP, Memo Comfort and Joy, online using the link below.

Attend a Yarn Wrapping (Every Friday during Lent at the Fish Fry)
Partnering with the Magic Yarn Project, parishioners will purchase and prepare the yarn and flowers for pediatric cancer patients’ “costume” wigs. We will wrap and cut yarn and we will bedazzle silk flowers for wigs. Wigs are free for patients.

Parishioners will donate items and pack CARE boxes. CARE packages will be distributed to parishioners and community members in need that are battling cancer or facing health concerns.
Items needed for CARE boxes:- Jesus Calling Book
- Visa or Restaurant Gift Cards
- Deck of Playing Cards
- Fuzzy Slipper Socks (adult male and female)
- Throw Blanket
- Family Games
- Coloring Books or Sheets on Card Stock (adult/children)

Mary, Queen of Peace invites you to take part however you can through our Comfort & Joy program. Comfort & Joy includes our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, Christmas Angel Tree outreach, Shoe Collection from our five loaves ministry to the homeless as well as other times through out the year to help those in need.
